Off-piste capital: Sion airport.
Verbier: the Mont Fort, the Freeride World Tour, the Verbier Festival (chamber music in July) and the Farinet après-ski ritual: is the world capital of off-piste skiing. The Federation coordinates winter-season transfers from Geneva or Sion Airport, helicopter ascents to the off-piste couloirs, and summer stays at the W Hotel during the festival season. The Four Valleys ski domain links Verbier to Nendaz, Veysonnaz and La Tzoumaz: 412 km of marked piste.
