Biarritz — the Empress Eugénie's favourite seaside resort, the Hôtel du Palais, the Grande Plage, the Côte des Basques surf beach and the Basque country's extraordinary cuisine (Arzak, Mugaritz, and Axuri in San Sebastián, forty-five minutes south) — is reached by FFGR Jets in two hours. The Federation coordinates the Biarritz Surf Festival (July), pelota court visits in Saint-Jean-de-Luz, and inland excursions to the Pyrenean foothills.
