Espace Killy — high-altitude skiing.
Val d'Isère — Espace Killy, the Face de Bellevarde (named for Jean-Claude Killy), the Stade de slalom, the La Fornet glacier and the après-ski at La Folie Douce — is one of Europe's three highest ski resorts (1,850m village, 3,456m summit). The Federation coordinates winter transfers from Chambéry Airport (two hours) or helicopter from Geneva. The annual Critérium de la Première Neige in December traditionally opens the World Cup ski season.
